i'm trying to decide whether to have my ead encore updated to an ovation by noble electronics to use solely for surround sound. the encore is a legacy nexstep, and it is sitting idle as i am currently using a proceed pav-pdsd combo. it is being fed by an esoteric dv-50 and a sony tv via toslink for 5.1 sound from off-air hdtv. two channel listening is via a two-channel coda preamp, and the front L and R channels from the surround pass thru the coda. i know both the ead anc proceed are old tech but i am not aiming for more than the 5.1 channels, or funky processing-- just dd and dts (music is two-channel, even concert dvds!)i am curious whether anyone here has compared the ead with the proceed, and/or compared the encore with an ovation. any informed experiences would be helpful.
thanks in advance,
mark
