Re: Blu-Ray also has application in the Computer storage arena.

My 9-5 job involves IT matters, and I've thought of BD-R as a possible backup medium, but at the moment, it's not looking super compelling because I don't really know how archival it will be, and hard disk storage is super cheap.

Both Blu-Ray and HD DVD use AACS encryption, and at the rate things are going, that will be fully and irrevocably cracked pretty soon, and that's fine with me, because I want to be able to watch those movies on my existing computer and elsewhere.
