You mentioned that in two years that you want to be able to have both your hifi system and 5.1 or a combination of both. Two years is a very long time in HT years. I think that in two years we'll be seeing 9.1 digital processors. If I'm you I'm saving my money and waiting until I can afford the system I want. If you can't wait than I would look for a/v manufacturers who make upgradeable processors, Lexicon, Theta Digital, or EAD...Good luck!
