The Sammy BD-5000 blew up. It was cruisin' thru a film and I noticed a tiny bit of distortion and static in the sound track. I passed it off as static electricity and let the movie roll on. Suddenly, and at a good part of "Sunshine", it froze. I tried a reboot and a non BR DVD and the movie played but there was no sound. The BR discs would not play at all.
I called my local dealer, Magnolia in Palo Alto, and they said bring it on in. I did so and they handed me a new one and updated my warranty in the computer. Brought it home and installed Sammy's updated firmware and it works fine....for how long....who knows.
At any rate the dealer handled this absolutely satisfactory.
