Mom being 88 yrs. old, and of course, the best person I've known.
A bit hard of hearing,("They talk so fast on TV"), loves the sports and news. No DVD, tapes, or computer stuff required.
My first idea was a Sony 40" Bravia-V. In just the last several days, I've changed my opinion to Plasma and the forthcoming Panny PZ800.
The 4-speakers and 30 watts of audio are attractive. Plasma for sports motion. It's an Apartment, so ambient light is not a huge problem.
The downside is the huge weight of these puppys (80+ lbs) so pre-planning required on delivery and setup. Nobody seems to make TV carts anymore; it's all wall-mounts and expensive cabinets with several shelves.
I'd also like to have a *basic* simplistic 5-7 button remote. (My Tosh CRT set came w/ 2 remotes; a tiny simple one, and a more complicated one.) Is that still the case these days?
Thanks for reading or responding-
