Home Video Asylum

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

That's what I thought

The 720 can be had at about $3k whereas the 1080 is at least $4600. I'm not a big video/movie fan. It causes too much stress between my wife and I. She wants drama. i tell her life has enough drama and i need something that holds my attention. Girly movies don't do it for me.
But that said the LR is quite unattractive due to a big 55" box and my stereo equipment and floor standing speakers all on one wall. The flat panel will help make things look better. And we do watch a certain amount of movies and tv. I was gonna build a separate listening room and put a projector in it, but $$$ is not available for that yet. So this is a second choice. FWIW, You can see a picture of my system which is listed in my profile and see what I'm up against

I had heard bad things about the LG, but didn't know about Samsung. I thought they were pretty good. Then too I haven't been in the market for a TV in a while
