I wasn't sure where to ask this.I am looking at getting a Bluray player. i have been doing reviews. I am interested in the Ps3 because of value and upgradability (you also get SACD). I was wondering about the Dolby TruHD. Here is a article i read in a review and I don't quite unsderstand it.:
HD movies look superb on the PS3, which can output video at full 1080p resolution via its HDMI 1.3 port. Audio support is also top notch: the PS3 decodes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio soundtracks internally, outputting them as linear PCM, which should deliver impeccable lossless surround when connected to most HDMI-equipped AV receivers. Sticklers may lament the lack of "bit stream" audio output or multichannel analog connectors--if either is an issue for you, than you're in the small minority who should opt for one of those more expensive standalone Blu-ray player.
I am using a Denon 3808. Will i get degraded quality. Wasn't sure what linear PCM meant. Thank
