Sony Flat Screen LCD KDL-52V4100 - 52" (in family room)I'm no videophile, so no detailed tests.
With both TV's set on "standard" (i.e. Sony defalt) settings, the rear projection TV has a better picture, is easier to watch, and is more enjoyable to watch.
Thought someone might be interested.
Unfortunately, Sony has stopped production of their rear projection models. I'm guessing that their marketing people told them that what consumers really want is something that will hang on the wall. While the flat panel does clean up the family room by hanging on the wall, the most enjoyable and engaging picture is the rear projection.
