I really like the URC models, for ergonomics and reliability. I am a fan of hard buttons with different shapes, and not so much a fan of touchscreens, though an intelligent combo of both is fine too. Not nearly as friendly to set up as Harmony though. URC has a new model that looks decent for under $200. The URC models are known for VERY strong IR output. On Remote Central they use the "blanket test", which is how many layers of blanket the IR can punch through; most remotes are pretty lame in comparison to URC. So you almost certainly will not need the RF as long as you're in the same room as the gear, and the gear doesn't have the IR sensor windows completely covered. Maybe a dealer will let you try one to test??Edit: the URC model I was thinking of is the R50 that lists for $150. It is possibly the better URC choice for Harmony users, less shock, though I do not like its ergonomics nearly as much as some other URC models. But it still apparently has a wicked IR output. I think this is the only URC model they sell that is intended for the general public to purchase; URC has a rep for not being "friendly" to non-pro users in some ways.
