RE: Volume control

The DAC's the Oppo uses have a 24-bit control buffer. That leaves 8 bits resolution for volume control before you lose information.
It's the same principle that Wadia used many years ago in their CD-player. There is a white paper from Wadia in internet which explains the principle.

Oppo themselves states that volumecontrol should not be lowered below 80% before degradation starts. I consider it might be somewhat more ..... ;)

Anyhow, if you do not need to use it, keep it at 100%.
