HD (High Definition) is generally meant to be resolutions above 480p. That means 720p, 1080i and 1080p are all "HD". On Blu-ray, there are a few discs encoded at 720p60. Most of the concerts, but not all, are encoded at 1080i60 (there are a few movies at this rate as well). The majority of Blu-ray movies, along with some other material, are encoded at 1080p24. Most of the players will allow you to pick an output to match the resolution and frame rate that is best handled by your display. However, at this time players are not allowed to output 1080p24 via YPbPr: this output is reserved for HDMI or DVI-D. The exception is the PS3 (only) when playing games -- 1080p output is available via YPbPr.
