I am considering adding a Blu-ray player to my "mostly for music, but I enjoy movies too" system. For movies I run 4.1 (phantom center channel) and greatly enjoy the sound, particularly when I can find a soundtrack with DTS.
To manage cash flow and complexity (my current HT components work well together and after a lot of work my system is hum-free) I want to retain my current Pioneer VSX-1014TX HT receiver (inputs are 5.1 analog, optical and coax digital; it does not have HDMI).
The player should also be equipped to stream movies (Netflix, etc.), preferably via Ethernet. Max price ~$300 or thereabouts.
I realize that I may be caught between the old (audio formats and connectivity) and the new (streaming)...
Thanks for your thoughts and advice,
Peter
