Man, do I need help!!! in setting up my Blu-ray to get my online so I can

I hooked up my Panasonic Blu-ray and went to the Setup and I got two "fails:"
IP address;
Connection to gateway.
So, my obvious question is: how do I change an IP address? I don't have a router, only a switcher at the junction.
