I don't understand your question. Is "Toshiba" your TV? Which units are you connecting to what?
Don't know if this will help, but I have my DVD player connected to my TV with HDMI. This is for video only. The DVD player is connected digitally to my Denon receiver (I can use toslink, coax, or DenonLink, all of which sound about the same). I use another digital connection from my music server to my receiver. Finally, I use another digital connection from my TV cable box to my receiver, for listening to the audio of TV programs.
Why run a digital audio source into your TV and then out again to the receiver (if this is what you're trying to do)? You CAN do it that way, and there shouldn't be any sound degradation, since the signal remains digital and never goes into analog until it's converted in the AV receiver.
