I'm pretty darn sure it can resume a movie. Hit pause to pause, and again to resume maybe, or hit play? It's also pretty slow loading a movie, but not enough to bother me any.
I've never hooked it up to the Internet, and have no idea what Pandora radio is, so can't offer anything on that, sorry.
I'm guessing in 5 years blue-ray players will be almost obsolete.
