I have exactly the same question. Hope you get replies. My older PS3 sends only PCM through the DVDO Edge to the Cary Cinema 11a. As I understand it, earlier PS3s do the processing internally. WIFI is important for me, because it would eliminate the cable from the disc player to the AirPort Extreme. I'd be using HDMI out.
