We are currently using my Samsung R530 laptop to stream videos wirelessly from Netflix onto a 42" Panasonic plasma via HDMI. When doing so the volume on the TV has to be turned up about 50% higher than when watching cable TV shows, even with the volume on the laptop at 100%. Will this be the case with a Roku unit as well?
Is the audio signal strength a function of the input from Netflix? Or is it being limited by the audio circuitry of the laptop? I think some videos play louder than others, but generally the volume has to be cranked into the 30's range from the low 20's (cable). Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
