I would recheck the audio section in the Menu for a PCM setting for digital output. If there really isn't an option for this, then you'll have to get something to convert from Dolby Digital to PCM.

One option is to get an inexpensive receiver (even used) that has an optical output. You could feed the receiver Dolby Digital and configure it to output stereo PCM via its optical output. Maybe eBay or Craigslist?
