I can't say for sure, but is there a very small hole (~ 1/16" inch diameter) on the front of the unit, below the tray? If so, take a large paper clip (not the whimpy regular size) or other piece of stiff wire and gently insert it. It turns the gears which will open the drawer at least partway.
If not, you can try a wood chisel and a hammer. ;)
Or, try a piece of duct tape to use to pull on the drawer itself. However, be careful! Duct tape is a dangerous tool, and should only be used by skilled professionals.
