So, I guess I don't understand the digital formats. I understand that everything is on an HDMI cable now which can greatly simplify interconnections. So 5.1 Dolby has been superceded by Blu-ray audio?? So, those A/V Receivers on craigslist are really truly obsolete?
I was considering a newer processor and an older 7.1 Receiver in which I would just use the direct audio portion, but in the end, maybe I just need a modern A/V receiver or such. More confused now than when I posed the question -- ignorance is bliss ;-)
