RE: Blu ray 3D player recommendations needed...............

Any BluRay player will play DVDs and CDs. Some will play SACDs or DVD-Audio discs as well, although they may not play up that capacity in their ads. You will get good results with Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic, or LG players that have the features you want in addition to 3D, and you shouldn't have to spend any more than $200 at most.

Note: If you are connecting the player to an audio system that does not have HDMI connectivity, you will have to spend a lot more money in order to get a player that has 6.1 analog outputs and decent DACs (like $500 or so for an Oppo).
