Along with certain drecky TV shows and a seemingly endless numbern of crummy kiddie cartoons, there are also a reasonable selection of foreign movies and documentaries that you won't find in too many other places. Some of the particular fine ones I have seen recently are:
The Sound of Noise
Story of Mr. Sorry
Happy Happy
Boy Wonder
Who'll Stop the Rain
Soundtrack for a Revolution
The extended Swedish version of of the Milennium Triology movies (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, etc.)
Eames: The Architect and the Painter
Company
They Came to Play
Pianomania
Mapp & Lucia
It Came From Kuchar
Ip Man

I've also seen some TV series that either I missed or were never shown here:
Head Case
Arrested Development
Prison Break
The Worst Week of My Life
Red Riding Trilogy
