Thanks, Joe. My setup had been DirecTV HD-DVR to iScan Duo to Cary 11a to Sony VPL projecting onto a 100" screen, all HDMI; an Oppo BDP-95 was connected to the other HDMI input of the Cary. This setup worked fine. But then I decided to connect a Sony 5400ES to the Cary HDMI input the Oppo was using, and thought to use the iScan as an HDMI switch by connecting the Oppo to one of its HDMI inputs. Now I get neither video nor audio from either source, although the light on the iScan indicates it's receiving signals and the projector displays HDMI-1 or HDMI-2 as I switch between the sources. Pressing the menu button on the iScan remote displays nothing.
The Oppo certainly doesn't need a separate video processor and the DirecTV HD-DVR may not either, so the inexpensive passive switch looks to be a promising solution.
