Pioneer had to sell their plasma business a few years ago. The moral of the story is that consumers generally buy crap and are more interested in saving a buck than buying quality.

If you have no need for anything larger than 35" just get a Sony Bravia. Unless you sit a couple feet from the TV, you won't notice an improvement with a better 1080p screen.
