Its been known for quite a while, that not all PS3 owners know it is a BD player. In fact, about a year or so ago, less than 1/2 of the owners knew it was a BD player. This has been discussed here previously. It is possible, though surprising, that there are still some that don't know its a BD player.

Why do you assume that the total number of players is PS3 owners + BD player owners? Since when do stand alone players make up 45% of all BD players? That's news to me.
