"Thanks. Is the digital output (optical or coax) of the LG BD390 capable of at least 5.1? I've heard that some players downmix to 2.0."
I really don't know, I just run the HDMI into my TV and then run the stereo RCA audio outs of the TV to a 2-channel stereo reciever. Something somewhere is making it come out in 2 channel stereo. ;)
If you go to LG's website you can look at the player's manual and figure out what it does. The player outputs audio from HDMI, analog 2 channel RCA outs, coaxial and optical digital outs and 7.1 analog outs. It seems to be pretty flexible.
