The computers have OS very big and complex .. because they have to do a lot of other things not only audio playback
But you are right ... with a minimal OS installation and with the pc completely disconnected from the web a pc is very flexible
That said the Oppo units have shown that an extremely good audio is possible from BR players, with also the BR playback function of course
But starting at 600 USD they are a little expensive for me
The 2nd market is full all BR players, some of them with streaming functions
With little as 100-150 USD you can have a very good AV source able to do almost everything
But when i read that Sony offers streaming of only photos i wonder ... they are joking ???
And video ? and audio ?
Me and my friends we have all ripped our cd collection on Nas
So what they are thinking ???
