HELP!!! Clips sound in my speakers!!!!

I just bought an Yamaha DSP A-1 and installed it in my system. When I turn up the volume, I can hear popping noises coming out of my speakers, cycling through the center channel, then the main, and then the surround speakers over and over again. All the speakers are connected directly to the DSP A-1's amplifier section. I used the headphone jack, and the noise is not there. I had disconnected the unit several times and checked all the connections and settings and still couldn't figure out what was wrong. HEEEEEELP!!!
