Re: Does anyone own a Universal Remote Sony REM-AV2000?

hi,
i actually have the 2100 which is the newer model. i picked it up for about $120 on ebay. it looks very cool but there are some down sides. first, you cant name the buttons anything other than what they have designated. if you have a dvd player, you will actually have to have at least one directional button named something other than an arrow. also, it is a little bit big and awkward. furthermore dont count on the pre-programming to work right, i had to practically teach almost every command from my remotes to the 2100. oh, and unfortunately, the remote does not light up automatically, you have to push the light button. all in all, i guess it is a good deal. there was no way i was going to spend $300 on the philips remote. i know there is another remote out there for about the same money called the ucommand. but i dont know anything about it. it is really cool to have the learning function. i wanted to get rid of all of my other remotes and this was the answer. hope i helped a little!
