...I would say Philips offers the best for a money paid, and a service is easy. Grundig, if you are in Europe, it's a king of all TVs. And a Sony because a good remote controlers. About the picture... they are all same if they are the same price, but the sound is another story. RCA has finaly changed their model to better.
My personal opinion is... You really have to be an "expert" to make a bad TV today. Go for featueres they have, not for a quality.
