Sony Wega TV recommendations?

I was wondering if someone can offer recommendations for a new TV. My sitting position is about 12' from the tv position. I am thinking a 36" size tv is appropriate. My budget range is $1,000 to $1,500 msrp.

I've seen a few of the Sony Wega line and really liked them. But there seems to be a dozen or so different model numbers. Which to choose?

Also, if it makes a difference, I plan on also getting the new Sony DVP 9000ES machine which also has progressive scan.

Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.
