Hi Jason, I use to have my system connected via the output of the tv, was getting a hum that I couldn't figure out. Got the cable guy in, he told me about a filter of sorts (?) in the tv that will create this 60hz hum if it has the filter, obviously mine does. When we connected the tv through the vcr the hum disappeared. Now you can only watch tv through your vcr given that you've got the player connected to cable as well(obviously!!!).
