Does your computer, either via the motherboard or graphics card, have a VGA connector? The cable in that picture is DVI-D and does not output an analog signal. To get an analog signal, you would need a powered adapter capable of converting the digital video to analog video (VGA, from the info provided) or a graphics card (should you not have one) that outputs a VGA signal.
