Our living room is around 17 1/2', and I sit at pretty much that full distance. If I could, there'd be an 80" to replace the 65" in there.
When we bought the 65", we moved the 50" to our bedroom. It's a perfect size for that room for our room and tastes.
IOW, if your viewing room is small, I get why you'd want smaller...
