this is a funny hobby....am pretty advanced on many topics, neophyte on others. can someone help with what video switching is and why it is needed? I assume that it entails routing a video signal in some fashion, but, in the case of a dvd, for example, can one not just go directly to the tv, thereby eliminating such a "switching" need?thanks
