I found that I needed to UNplug the optical out cable from my Pioneer DV-05 player in order to get analog sound when recording a DVD to SVHS tape. Why can't the unit have *both* analog & digital connections plugged in, and then let me choose between them ? I checked the menus for both the DV-05, and the receiver (Pioneer VSX-24TX). I took the digital settings on both, and turned them OFF, yet still no sound. I'll be writting/calling Pioneer, but in the mean time wanted to run this buy you folks for any input......Thanks in advance.
