S video input on toshiba tv on the blink . . .

128.248.108.227

The s video input on my toshiba tv developed a problem. The signal from the satellite dish would be black and white, and jiggling the cable at the tv end fixed the problem. I then switched input cables to an svideo cable from a playstation and initially the signal was black and white but then didn't come through at all, ie the screen was black. I plugged in the svideo cable from the satellite box and again had problems with the screen being black or having a B/W image and finally was able to achieve a color image after jiggling the cable in and out of the tvs input.

Has anyone had a similar prior experience? What kind of a job would it take to replace the svideo input? Are there different quality levels of svideo inputs? I would be most appreciative of any comments or suggestions.
