Assuming you like your B&W 1600s, you might consider asking your B&W vendor what speakers would be a good tonal match, and then give them a listen. It could turn out that they have exactly what you want.

Sorry -- I don't know much about Onkyo equipment. As for Denon, it has a pretty good reputation on this board. While I've never listened to the AVR-3801, I like my Denon AVR-3300.

You might want to check out audioreview.com to see what others think of these pieces.

As always, it's desirable to listen to components in your own home, with your other equipment. Better vendors loan out this stuff all the time, and when it works out, they deserve your business. It's more work, but it helps remove doubts about how well everything blends together.
