Hate the Stop and Enter button on DVD

I dread it when someone in my family by accident presses the STOP button on my DVD player. I have to press play wait for the player to play all the studioâ€™s logos the FBI warning etc. Only then I am allowed to pick the scene in a menu (I wonâ€™t get started on the menu). If I ever lost my remote I would not be able to play some of my DVDs because they require the ENTER key!
Is this common to all DVD players?

Sony DA30ES

JVC TV
