Tutorial on Home Theater?

I hate to be a pain, but I'm a 2 channel vinyl guy that has a family that wants a home theater setup. As usual, the objective of the staff at home theater shops is to confuse - so here I am - confused. Is there a site or resource that you can recommend to bring me out of the dark ages on this subject rather than peppering you with dumb questions?
