I am trying integrate HT into my existing 2ch system. I want to still utilize my 2 ch setup for audio playback. So what I was thinking of doing is to hook up both my 2ch preamp and a AV preamp to my front channel amp via a Y-connector(Actually to a crossover to split the signal up for a sub/main.) The center, surround on the AV preamp would go to their own dedicated amplification.I was just wondering if there would be any impedence issues with the 2 preamps' output stage running in parallel, and having both preamp feeding into one other's output stage, especially if the 2ch preamp has tubes.
My system would be:
Audible Illusion Modulus 2B preamp
Undetermined AV preamp(Maybe marantz AV-9000)
both feeding into:
Hsu Crossover/AmpThe 2 channel system:
Hsu 1220 sub
Krell KSA-80 amp
Magnepan MGIIIa front speakerThe existing HT equipment
Mitsubishi X-100 XGA front projector
Da-Lite tensioned 100" screen
B&K ST-202 amp for surround
VCREquipments needed for the rest of HT.
Magnepan SMG surrounds
DVDO line doubler(?)
THX receiver for center surround(?)
DVD player
