I use antennae exclusively for both TV sets so I feel your pain.If all else is the same and you suddenly lose reception by switching TVs, the problem is your new TV I would think. I would double check owner's manual to make sure you're selecting the correct antenna input. Also, there are several ways to hook up an antenna: direct to TV antenna input; direct to VCR (to use as a TV tuner) then to TV; my current hook up is direct to TV AND to VCR w/ a connection between VCR and TV (this allows me to watch TV while the videotape is stopped, rather than a blue screen...for normal TV viewing I go to the direct antenna signal and use the TV's tuner, not the VCR's).
So make sure you have all hooked up to the new TV as you did to the old 27", make sure you're sure that there's nothing else odd about Sony's hookup instructions that makes your new set up different, and if you still cannot get a signal, talk to several TV guys (installers of antenna, TV repairmen, etc.) for any similar experiences they've had.
