Can anyone help?

I live in the uk and I have a pioneer DV606 DVD player and a Mitusbishi TV (PAL although it is NTSC 3.58Mhz and 4.43Mhz Compatible aswell as PAL 60Hz). I have been watching DVDs now for over a year through S-VIDEO and its good, but I bought a RGB to Scart cable for my TV which supports RGB inputs (I know because this worked with my satelitte RGB outputs). Is there any reason why I get a screen full of S&&T when I connect my dvd player up with the RGB cable. I can only belive it is an incompatibility between the DVD component video and the TV component video standards?? The dvd outputs are labeled Y, Cb, and Cr.

Any suggestions please??????
