The following was from a Sony press release:DAV-S500: Designed for the consumer just entering the DVD solutions market or adding a home theater system to a second room, the system features an impressive 280 watts total system power along with a single-disc player for DVD, CD, and SACD multi-channel playback capability.
Like all players in this year's lineup, it also comes with a new full digital amplifier, delivering outstanding audio performance in a space-saving configuration. Headphone Theater Mode is also added, providing a virtual 5.1-channel experience.
The DAV-S500 will be available in July for about $600.
