When you power on most modern equipment it has to pass an internal self-test before it will go "on-line". Sounds like yours’ failed.

First thing to do is to disconnect everything but the power cord & start over. If it comes ready with nothing else connected it may be ok. Start by hooking up 'known good' speakers with 'known good' speaker cable. If it comes ready at this point it doesn't mean that you’re in the clear yet, the component may still be bad.

Connect one component at a time, power it up and see what happens. You may (if your lucky) have damaged a cable when you were disconnecting the original unit.
