Who makes good "F" type connectors and coax cable?

I need to upgrade a few old cable box connectors that are still using the cheap stiff black coax. Can anyone recommend a good cable and f-type connector that I could crimp together. I was considering Cardas f-type at $7.50 each and maybe some monster RG-6??
