Re: Rotel RB985THX/RSP-966 better than Yamaha DSP-AX1?

Since your more interested in HT, I would sell your Rotel RSP. Then purchase a used Lexicon DC-1. Keep the amp. You will then have one awesome HT system. Is it simpler? Not really because this processor does so much to maximize the sound for a theater environemt. Does it look simple? Yes. You talk about better crossover filters for the sub, you've got it. Better DSP, definitely. More features and upgradeablity.....Oh yea. I have the Lexicon MC-1 which is very similar to the DC-1 (I did have the DC-1 before trading up). I use Rotel amps on 7 speakers (3 front, 2 sides, 2 back) using their Logic 7 (incredible sound effect....one of the best). A used DC-1 is going to cost around ($1K). Readup and research the processor. Here's a site for Lexicon users to read about:

PS I had Yamaha before going to seperates and Lexicon is a better unit in my opinion.
