Re: Are you going to use it for Music?

The newer Pannys are based on DVD-ROM drives, and are capable of playing back CD-R and CD-RW.

The quick "hint" is if the player can play back MP3 CDs, or is firmware upgradable with a CD, it's a DVD-ROM drive.

Remember the goal of the transport is to get the bits off the disc, and DVD-ROM drives are excellent for this task (and much easier to engineer!)
