I know the Denons have a "reset". Check you manual if re-cycling the power did not fix it.I have an AVR-5700 that crapped out after about 4 months. The best the tech could figure out was that a solder joint was missed on the assembly line and it eventually failed.
Did you just hook this unit up for the first time? Exchange it and if the second unit does the same thing then you know the problem is on your end, and it's not a problem the receiver.
