OK,I was in J&R the other day and noticed they had the Panasonic RP-56 for $219 and the RP-60 for $229. The RP-60 adds DVD-A. My question is that the 56 is very highly regarded since it uses the better DVDO chip from Silicon Image rather than the Genesis chip. Does the RP-60 as well? Are the players basically equal on other levels except having the DVD-A option?
My guess is the 60 is an inferior player in other regards but adds the DVD-A option. I am really looking to get a good video performing prog scan player and just thought why not check out the DVD-A hype for $10 more? But I am skeptical that it is on par with the 56.
